2. Armagh Christian Brothers and St. Patrick's College, Armagh amalgamated to become St. Patrick's Grammar with effect from the 1988–89 school year.
3. Prior to 1 April 1991 voluntary grammar schools were funded on an academic year basis (from 1 August to 31 July). With the introduction of Local Management of Schools at 1 April 1991, funding was based on the Financial year (1 April to 31 March). In order to effect the transition, funding in 1990–91 was restricted to an 8 month period (1 August to 31 March). The information relating to this 8 month period has been omitted due to its distorting effect.
