§ Sir Hector Monro[holding answer 24 March 1993]: My right hon. Friend announced in answer to a question from the right hon. Member for Tweeddale, Ettrick and Lauderdale (Sir D. Steel) on 1 February 1993 Official Report, col. 37, his intention to provide financial support to Scottish craftmakers. My right hon. Friend concluded that both the Scottish Arts Council and the Crafts Council should participate in the provision of support for craftmakers and he is currently considering the role each organisation will play in the new arrangements. He will announce his decisions in due course.
