§ Mr. Ieuan Wyn JonesTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales how much is currently contributed by each local authority in Wales to the maintenance of the Welsh Development Agency office in Brussels; and what assessment he has made of the effect of the proposed local government reform in Wales upon future funding for the maintenance of the office.
§ Mr. David HuntThe Wales European centre in Brussels was established by the WDA and has a range of sponsors. The local authorities in Wales, through their respective associations, contributed £154,000 in 1992—93 towards the total budget of around £400,000.
Following the reform of local government, the question of support for the Wales European centre will be a matter for the new unitary authorities.
