§ Mr. Chris SmithTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what plans he had to make regulations on sales of unauthorised fuels in smoke control areas in(a) 1991 and (b) autumn 1992; and when he now expects to make those regulations.
§ Mr. MacleanAs required under section 140(5) of the Evironmental Protection Act 1990, the Advisory Committee on Hazardous Substances was consulted on the proposed regulations during 1991. A notice, under section 140(6) of the Act, announcing our intention to make regulations, was published last year in the London and EdinburghGazettes on 2 and 3 November, respectively. We are currently considering responses to the notice.
