HC Deb 24 March 1993 vol 221 c612W
Mr. Llew Smith

To ask the President of the Board of Trade, pursuant to his answer to the hon. Member for Leyton (Mr. Cohen), on 15 March,Official Report, column 50, if he will set out those matters relating to British Nuclear Fuels' operations and Sellafield which he does not regard as being matters for the company in respect of answers to parliamentary questions.

Mr. Eggar

In broad terms, questions directly relating to Government policy are matters upon which Ministers answer in Parliament, while questions relating to the day-to-day affairs of a particular company are for that company. Questions are considered individually as they arise. Those about the functions of particular buildings at Sellafield should normally be addressed to the company.
