§ Mr. RedwoodMost authorities have made a determined effort to collect the community charge and by the end of December English authorities had collected 76 per cent. of their budgeted income for this financial year. But some authorities are way behind. The worst collection rate this year is to be found in Hackney, only 45.5 per cent., followed by Langbaurgh, Islington, Middlesbrough, Plymouth, Brent, Teesdale, Lambeth, Camden and Harlow.
