§ Mr. MacleanFor a number of years, my Department has operated a scheme to license individuals who wish to rehabilitate injured or diseased birds. The scheme provides that licensees may tend and rehabilitate birds up to six weeks without having to comply with the statutory registration requirements which apply to some species. There are no plans for comparable schemes for further rehabilitation in the United Kingdom.
