§ Mr. VazTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he will issue his reply to the second report of the Treasury and Civil Service Select Committee, Session 1992–93, on "Banking Supervision and BCCI: The Implications of the Bingham Report".
§ Mr. NelsonI have written to the Chairman of the Committee to inform him that, while the Government have read with interest and noted the Treasury and Civil Service Select Committee's report, they do not intend to respond to it. The Government have already considered carefully the implications of Sir Thomas Bingham's report into the supervision of BCCI and I have nothing to add to the Government's response to that report, which my right hon. Friend the Chancellor announced to the House on 22 October 1992,Official Report, columns 576–91.
