HC Deb 22 March 1993 vol 221 c492W
Mr. Simon Hughes

To ask The Secretary of State for the Environment what is the amount of land-won sand and gravel and land-won crushed rock that will come from(a) permitted reserves and (b)) new consents in each of the regions in England and Wales up to 2011.

Mr. Baldry

My right hon. and learned Friend is currently consulting on draft revised mineral planning guidelines for the provision of aggregates in England and Wales. These guidelines will indicate the overall contribution to be made from land won supplies of primary aggregates over the period to 2011. The relative contributions made from permitted reserves and new consents will be a matter for the mineral planning authorities to determine.
