Mr. Gerrard

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many British citizens have been transferred to British prisons from French prisons under the convention for the transfer of sentenced persons; and what representations he has received about problems with the scheme as it affects British citizens in France.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Since 1985, one prisoner has been transferred to a British prison from France.

I have received no such representations.
