§ The Prime MinisterIn 1988 the Inland Revenue issued a consultative document "Residence in the United Kingdom—The Scope of UK Taxation for Individuals". This included proposals for changes in the tax treatment of non-domiciled individuals who are resident in the United Kingdom. In the light of the responses received, including a representation from the hon. Member's own party, it was announced that the Government did not intend pursuing these proposals on 15 March 1989 at columns501–2.
