§ The Prime MinisterThe various ways in which funds may be remitted to the United Kingdom were considered in a consultative document issued by the Inland Revenue in 1988 "Residence in the United Kingdom—The Scope of United Kingdom Taxation for Individuals". This included proposals for changes in the tax treatment of non-domiciled individuals who are resident in the United Kingdom. In the light of the responses received, including a representation from the hon. Member's own party, it was announced that the Government did not intend pursuing these proposals on 15 March 1989 at columns501–2.
