§ Mr. StewartAll nursing home residents have the right to seek the services of the general practitioner of their choice. The Nursing Homes Registration (Scotland) Regulations 1990 require the registered person to maintain a register of all patients which includes details of the resident's general medical practitioner. The health board, as the registering authority, is responsible for ensuring that requirements of the regulations are met.
