§ Mr. David HuntHealth departments are considering the financial case for authorising GPs to prescribe insulin injection pens and needles for diabetics. Their inclusion in the GP prescribable list must, like other new additions to the list, be subject to the availability of resources. The Department has received representations from secretaries of local branches of the British Diabetic Association and from a dozen individuals; no representations have been received from the British Medical Association.
