To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what proposals he has for the construction of road bridges across the River Clyde.

My right hon. Friend has no proposals for the construction of trunk road bridges over the River Clyde. However, I understand that Strathclyde regional council, which is the local roads authority for the area, has proposals for two new low-level bridges adjacent to the Kingston bridge.
