HL Deb 17 March 1993 vol 543 c92WA
Lord Skidelsky

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is the replacement cost value of the capital being used by local authorities for school age education in England and Wales.

Baroness Blatch

The estimated replacement value of the premises currently provided for school age children in local authority county and voluntary controlled schools in England is £44 billion. This includes the cost of furniture and equipment and design fees but excludes the cost of land. Figures for Wales are not held centrally.
