HC Deb 15 March 1993 vol 221 c90W
Mr. Peter Bottomley

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects the Thameslink trains to stop at London Bridge station in the rush hours; and what is the length of duplicate rail track needed at Borough market for this.

Mr. Norris

Detailed time-tabling is a matter for British Rail. However, I understand that there is currently insufficient track capacity to allow Thameslink trains to be routed via London Bridge at peak times. BR has proposals for rectifying this. They would entail about 600m of new viaduct and trackwork between London Bridge and Metropolitan junction, excluding works at London Bridge station itself.
