Which Government department is responsible for providing the necessary funds to ensure that the Imperial War Museum is able to discharge the duties laid upon it by statute, especially those relating to the preservation and storage of Ministry of Defence records.
Viscount AstorThe Department of National Heritage provides grant-in-aid in support of the Imperial War Museum to assist with its running costs and building and maintenance requirements. The trustees and senior management assess how best to meet the needs of the Imperial War Museum out of the grant-in-aid provided, along with other income that the institution is able to generate.
