§ Mr. MacleanNo. The Government have already secured the necessary legislation for the introduction of a dog warden service. Under section 149 (1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, which was implemented 1 April last year, local authorities in England and Wales have a duty to appoint officers to deal with stray dogs in their area.
