HC Deb 15 March 1993 vol 221 c88W
Mr. Martlew

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he has discussed with recreational, landowning, farming or statutory organisations proposals for the creation of new opportunities for access to the countryside involving payment by the public; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Maclean

[holding answer 2 March 1993]: I welcome the additional opportunities for recreation and access which farmers and landowners can provide, and which may generate a small additional income. I recently discussed opportunities for the provision of horse-riding facilities in particular with the British Horse Society and commended co-operation on the provision of new "toll-rides". I also hope to discuss similar issues with the Country Landowners Association.
