§ Sir Hector MonroThe grant in aid provided to the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh from 1986–87 onwards, and before that as direct running costs as part of the then Department of Agriculture and Fisheries for Scotland, was as follows:

Government funding to the district council comes from revenue support grant and it is for the council to decide how much of this it apportions to the botanic garden.
