To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security, pursuant to his answer of 12 February,Official Report, column 840, if he will give a breakdown by age of the pensioners with an income of less than £5,000 per year.

Notes:

(a) A pensioner unit is a single person aged over state pensionable age (SPA) or a couple where the head of the unit is over SPA, regardless of whether they are drawing state pension.

(b) The age of a pensioner couple is taken to be the age of the head of unit.
