To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement about IRA terrorism in mainland Britain.

The Government are determined to overcome terrorism in all its forms throughout the United Kingdom. The police have achieved a number of sucesses recently and they have my full support in their continuing efforts to ensure that those responsible for terrorist crime are brought to justice.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what assessment he has made of the adequacy of the security arrangements for those who are likely to be most at risk from terrorism.

Protective security arrangements are kept under constant review and adjusted as necessary to meet the assessed level of threat.
