HC Deb 11 March 1993 vol 220 c666W
Mr. David Marshall

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on the scope and duration of the Transport Research Laboratory's study of the best methods for the signpostings of red light cameras for road safety purposes; and if he will indicate what conclusions have been reached in that study.

Mr. Kenneth Carlisle

Studies are being undertaken by the Transport Research Laboratory and by independent consultants into the effectiveness of red light camera signs. Early results indicate that the signs add to the effectiveness of the cameras. We hope to issue advice shortly which will enable these signs to be used more widely in conjunction with cameras.
