HC Deb 11 March 1993 vol 220 cc665-6W
Dr. Liam Fox

To ask the Secretary of State for Education whether he plans to announce any further changes to cash limits on votes within his responsibility for 1992–93.

Dr. Patten

[pursuant to his replies, 4 February 1993, cols. 275–76 and 15 February 1993, col. 52]: The cash limit for class XI, vote 1 will be changed as follows:

Class and vote Curent cash limit£ Change£ Revised cash limit£
XI.1 745,895,000 -108,000 745,787,000

The reduction in the cash limit for class Xl, vote 1 is to offset wholly payment to the university of Hull in respect of a grant from the European regional development fund to be made in 1992–93 towards a project for the construction of a research centre in surface engineering. A net token subhead will be added to class Xl, vote 2, with the agreement of Her Majesty's Treasury, in the appropriation accounts for 1992–93 in due course, to enable the transaction to be audited by the Comptroller and Auditor General. These changes will not add to the planned total for public expenditure.
