§ Mr. Alfred MorrisTo ask the Secretary of State for Education, pursuant to the answer of the Home Secretary of 10 February,Official Report, column 625, what future plans he has to increase the amount committed by his Department in 1992–93 under its grants for education support and training for youth crime prevention schemes; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Boswell[holding answer 9 March 1993]: No grants were provided for youth crime prevention schemes under the Department's 1992–93 programme of grants for education support and training—GEST. With the 1993–94 GEST programme, my right hon. Friend will be grant aiding expenditure by English local education authorities of £4.1 million on such schemes. Funding beyond 1993–94 will be considered in this year's review of public expenditure plans.
