HC Deb 10 March 1993 vol 220 c600W
Mr. Madden

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, pursuant to his answer of 15 February,Official Report, column 30, concerning Shenaz Begum, Afsar Khan and Shaira Begum, what consideration is being given to the submission of further evidence dated 10 February by the representative of the children's father; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

The British high commission at Islamabad considered that the further evidence submitted by Mr. Ismail Ghani on 10 February tended to support the passport applications of Shenaz Begum, Afsar Khan, and Shaira Begum but some doubts still remained. As the hon. Member knows, the case was subsequently referred to the Home Office on 2 March. Once the outcome of its inquiries is known, the passport applications will be considered again.
