HC Deb 10 March 1993 vol 220 c603W
Mr. French

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what is her estimate of the number of people who are simultaneously employed and self-employed.

Mr. McLoughlin

The latest estimate for Great Britain from the summer—June to August—1992 labour force survey, is that there are 250,000 such people, not seasonally adjusted. This total comprises 189,000 people who were employees in their main job and self-employed in their second job, and 61,000 people who were self-employed in their main job and employees in their second job.
