HC Deb 10 March 1993 vol 220 cc570-1W
Mr. Peter Bottomley

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer in which publication, speech or statement his Department has described how it takes account of the family perspective and the life cycle in the targets, activities and statistics of his Department.

Sir John Cope

The "1993 Departmental Report for the Chancellor's Departments", Cm 2217, outlines the roles and objectives of the Treasury. The Chancellor's Budget statement and the "Financial Statement and Budget Report" outline developments in the economy, provide economic forecasts and set out the Budget proposals. The "Autumn Statement" and "Statistical Supplement to the Autumn Statement" set out public spending plans. The policies outlined in these various publications take account of implications for the family.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on how his Department takes account of the family perspective and the family life cycle in the targets, activities and statistics of his Department.

Sir John Cope

These issues are considered by the Treasury in the formulation and implementation of the Government's economic and financial policy.
