[holding answer 9 March 1993]: I am aware of the case made by Barrow in Furness for a new enterprise zone. It remains Government policy that enterprise zones should be designated only in exceptional circumstances and where they can be most effectively deployed. Decisions on future designations of enterprise zones await the outcome of a review of the assisted areas map now being undertaken by my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade.
