HC Deb 10 March 1993 vol 220 c630W
Mr. Barry Field

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects the next derelict land survey in England to be carried out.

Mr. Redwood

The next derelict land survey is being undertaken this year, with a base date of 1 April. The survey forms were sent out to the local authorities in England in February and I hope that they will all be able to take part. The previous survey was in 1988 and now we need more up-to-date information to enable the Department to allocate grant for land reclamation and to provide a starting point for the urban regeneration agency's work. The survey is being managed for the Department by the consultants, Arup Economics and Planning, and the results of the survey should be published in the summer of 1994.
