To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether listing officers are required to correct factual errors on the council tax valuation list which are brought to their attention before 1 April.

Mr. Nelson

[holding answer 8 March 1993]: Listing officers are required to take such steps as are reasonably practicable in the time available to ensure valuation lists are accurately compiled on 1 April 1993. This will include taking account where possible of factual errors brought to their attention before that date.

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what proportion of domestic properties located on registered agricultural holdings in England and Wales have been valued for council tax purposes(a) by officers of the Valuation Office agency and (b) by valuers engaged from the private sector.

[holding answer 8 March 1993]: The valuation for banding of all known composite dwellings was undertaken by officers of the Valuation Office.
