§ Ms WalleyTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) what assessment he has made of the effect of the British Waterways Bill on commercial shipping.
(2) if he will list the British Waterways docks planned to be closed as a result of the Waterways Bill.
§ Mr. Maclean[pursuant to his reply, 23 February 1993 c. 524]: British Waterways now advises me that a small amount of commercial shipping continues to use Weston Point docks for discharging and loading at facilities leased by a third party. I, and British Waterways Board, apologise for the error in earlier reply. It remains the case that the British Waterways Bill does not prevent the future operation of the docks for commercial traffic.
