§ Mr. MallonTo ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will give details of all grants from public bodies or Government departments, including the Local Enterprise Development Unit, the Industrial Development Board and the Department of Agriculture, Northern Ireland, to companies involved in potato processing, for the past five years; and, for each company, if he will give details of the number of jobs promoted by public funding.
§ Mr. Hanley[holding answer 5 March 1993]: During the past five years financial assistance totalling £4,075,089 has been offered by public bodies and Government to Northern Ireland companies involved in potato processing. A total of 281 jobs were promoted as a result of this assistance.
