To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a further statement about the effect on the United Kingdom's independent nuclear deterrent of a moratorium on nuclear weapons testing at the Nevada test site.

There are no implications for the Trident warhead programme, for which the tests have been completed. It remains our view that the minimum programme of testing is the best means of ensuring the continuing safety and credibility of our deterrent.
