To ask the Secretary of State for Health, pursuant to her answer of 26 November 1992, to the hon. Member for Teignbridge (Mr. Nicholls),Official Report, column 809, if the extra funding to local authorities as part of the arrangements for replacing the independent living fund will be ring-fenced for purposes currently covered by the independent living fund.

No. The extra funding is included in the special transitional grant which is itself ring-fenced solely for use on community care.
