§ Mr. ForthSurveys commissioned by the Government have shown that most parents would welcome more information about schools. The parents charter explained parents' current rights, and promised improved access to information about the quality of information arid the standards achieved in schools. The first set of comparative school performance tables were published last November and have been widely welcomed by parents and others.
