§ Mr. FreemanWhen my right hon. Friend announced on 2 February the first services to be prepared for franchising British Rail had already announced its decision to withdraw its direct inter-city service from London to Cleethorpes in May. The franchise announced for the inter-city east coast main line does not therefore include the line from Newark to Cleethorpes.
