HC Deb 08 March 1993 vol 220 cc407-8W
Mrs. Bridget Prentice

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how many licences he has issued in each of the last five years for the taking or destroying of Canada goose eggs; and how many eggs were reported as having been dealt with under those licences.

Mr. Maclean

Information on licences issued to take or destroy Canada goose eggs in each of the years 1988, 1989, 1990 and 1991 is contained in the United Kingdom's annual derogation reports to the European Commission, copies of which are held in the Library of the House.

During 1992, 27 licences to take or destroy eggs were issued. Returns for the number of eggs dealt with are still awaited from some licence holders.
