To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will outline the restrictions applying to the purposes to which British Rail pensions fund assets may be applied; and if he will make a statement.

This is entirely a matter for the trustees of the British Rail pension schemes, acting in accordance with the powers within the various trust deeds and scheme rules.
