To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what plans she has to encourage work in the community in Swindon.

My right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State has been reviewing with colleagues the range of measures we already have in place to help unemployed people to find and keep jobs, to ensure that they are as effective as possible.

We have been examining further ways in which to enable unemployed people to use their time actively and constructively so that they remain in touch with the world of work.
