HC Deb 04 March 1993 vol 220 c250W
Mr. Bates

To ask the President of the Board of Trade what are the Government's latest forecasts of levels of United Kingdom petroleum production.

Mr. Eggar

The latest forecasts for petroleum production in the years 1993 to 1997 are as follows:

Million tonnes
1993 85–105
1994 95–125
1995 95–125
1996 95–125
1997 85–120

The forecast is presented as a range of outcomes for each year to take account of the many uncertainties involved. The figures include stabilised crude oil, natural gas liquids and condensates.

These figures and a range of other information about the development of United Kingdom oil and gas resources may be obtained from "Development of the Oil and Gas Resources of the United Kingdom 1993"—the Brown Book—due to be published by the DTI at the end of April.
