To ask the Secretary of State for Health what research her Department has commissioned into the effectiveness of residential care and secure residential care for juvenile offenders.

[holding answer 2 March 1993]: The following research projects commissioned by the Department include examination of the effectiveness of residential care for all children including juvenile offenders.
