HC Deb 04 March 1993 vol 220 c218W
Mr. Llwyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is the latest estimate of the annual cost of treatment for coronary heart disease; and if she will make a statement.

Mr. Sackville

This information is not routinely collected centrally. The latest year for which figures are held is 1989–90. We estimate that in that year £540 million was spent on all forms of treatment of coronary heart disease in the national health service.
