HC Deb 04 March 1993 vol 220 c286W
Mr. Tipping

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what discussions he has had about revising the basis on which crime statistics are collected.

Mr. Jack

[holding answer 2 March 1993]: My Department is currently looking at revising the rules and instructions for the forces to follow in collecting crime statistics. As part of this process each force, as well as representatives of the Association of Chief Police Officers, have been consulted. I expect a set of proposals to be submitted for my approval later this year.
