To ask the Secretary of State for Health what were the numbers of places in local authority residential homes for the elderly in Cambridgeshire in each year since 1984.

The table shows the total number of places in local authority staffed homes in Cambridgeshire reported as being primarily for elderly people form 1987 onwards. Similar information is not available for earlier years or unstaffed homes.

Information is collected centrally in age bands. The table shows the number of admissions, by age band, to local authority staffed homes in Cambridgeshire reported as being primarily for elderly people, from 1987 onwards. Similar information is not available for earlier years or unstaffed homes.
