HC Deb 03 March 1993 vol 220 c200W
Mr. Madden

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when a decision is to be taken on the application by Mrs. Khanum Jan (Ref.: J244929) to be granted indefinite leave to remain in the United Kingdom; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Charles Wardle

[holding answer 2 March 1993]: The immigration department wrote to the hon. Member on 9 February confirming that the application had been granted and seeking assistance in contacting Mrs. Jan. Three attempts to post her passport to her had proved unsuccessful, apparently because she had changed address. We were finally told the new address on 25 February and returned the documents the same day.
