To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what the guidelines are for the average time it should take his Department to answer hon. Members' correspondence; what the average time has been, in each month, for the last year; and if he will make a statement.

This Department's target is for Ministers to reply within 21 days of receipt to letters from hon. Members and noble Lords. The percentage of letters replied to within this deadline in each month of 1992 is as follows:
