HC Deb 01 March 1993 vol 220 c8W
Dr. Spink

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what meetings he has held recently regarding British membership of UNESCO; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Douglas Hogg

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs met a group of hon. Members on 25 February. We continue to follow closely matters at UNESCO and our officials have frequent contacts with the organisations's secretariat, member states and other interested parties. The question of the United Kingdom rejoining UNESCO remains under review.
