We do not keep detailed statistics about the use of recycled materials in road construction in other European countries. However, the amount used is known to vary depending on the availability of indigenous materials and land for disposal of waste materials. From our involvement in the preparation of European standards for highways, we are aware of the likely inclusion of requirements for the use of recycled materials.
